Tourist from Denmark Visit The Tennessee Freshwater Pearl Museum

nini-flemmingNini Loeaup and Flemming Jespersen from Denmark spent the morning in Tennessee River Pearl Museum. They looked over the display which explained the freshwater pearl and musseling industry. They learned about pearl culturing techinques as well as watched an informative video about the Tennessee Freshwater Pearls.

Nini and Fleming then visited the Pearl Jewelry showroom looking over freshwater pearl jewelry from around the world on display. Bracelets, necklaces, earrings, pendants, rings, and more including our own collection of jewelry with the Tennessee River Freshwater Pearl.

The museum and gift shop is open 7 days a week, year around. Monday – Saturday 8am – 5pm and Sunday 1pm – 4pm.

Belmont UMC Senior Group from Nashville, TN Visits Pearl Farm

belmount-united-methodist-church--adjBelmont United Methodist Church Senior Group from Nashville Took a day trip to the Tennessee River Pearl Farm. They enjoyed a beautiful day learning all about the pearl culturing process. Hosted by Bob Keast and Judy Tucker.

The group also enjoyed the deluxe box lunch at the new and improved Birdsong Community Center.

The TN River Freshwater Pearl Museum offers a variety of tour packages to choose from including “walk-in’s,” tour bus “tweeners,” our 3-5 hour guided “full” tour, a 1-2 hour “mini” tour, and a range of school-age children’s tours.

Old Peckerwood Landing Nature Trail

nature_walkA two-mile nature trail that winds along the cool, shady, lazy creek sides in the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge (TNWR). Enjoy the natural abundance of wildlife in its natural habitat, observe the biological communities along this relaxing journey through wetlands, marshland, corn and soybean crop fields planted for waterfowl and deer feeding.

birdsong_overlookDensely-wooded trek through the TNRW, then take an additional 2-mile journey along a quaint, winding country road leading to the breathtaking view at Peckerwood Landing overlooking the scenic Tennessee River. Outdoor enthusiasts park vehicles at the Birdsong boat showroom and Pearl Museum paved parking area to begin the experience.
